Most new LCD televisions come from the factory equipped with LCD TV stands to hold the television upright on a flat surface. That LCD TV stands that come with a new LCD television are designed for use with that specific model and may not be secure enough for different television sets. The more slender flat screen LCD TVs have the ability to be mounted on the wall or placed on a LCD TV stand.
The new wide screen LCD TVs will not be able to fit into an older entertainment cabinet that was made for the smaller sets. Most of these units come in a common size that will generally fit most LCD TVs. Using the LCD TV Stands can allow it to be positioned on top of a very stable cabinet or dresser.

There are a few wall mounted flat screen TV’s where LCD TV stands are not necessarily required. In the event replacement stands have to be purchased they are best purchased from the manufacturer or authorized representative to insure the replacements hold the television as securely as they are intended.
